Sijtze Malda is a true outdoor painter, finding his inspiration especially
in water-filled landscapes. He likes to paint on the coastal mud flats
(wadden), in harbours, beside rivers and canals, from the River IJssel to
Ireland and France. Wherever he is, he is always seeking out the wide open
spaces or the stillness, which he makes visible through his watercolours.
