Reinder Homan
Reinder Homan was born on 1950 in Smilde (The Netherlands). He studied at the Minerva Academy in Groningen and the Jan van Eyck Academy in Maastricht.
Reinder Homan is a poet. His lean, economical plates capture volumes of space, depth and shadow through suggestion and visual metaphor. He creates an unique synthesis by revealing the stillness of his native northern provinces throug his buoyant vision of nature. His art evokes the sounds of meadows and the smells of glades. And beneath the pastoral world he presents, there are hints of a complex and hectic natural world, full of activity, contradiction and diversity.
