Peter van der Ploeg, Rhenen 1954, turns to landscape to find his subject matter. This is where he finds stillness, tension, loneliness or danger. Human beings, whether actually present or not, are mostly the cause of the subdued tension. People and nature are entwined, eventually attaining a state of harmony together. He uses an almost photographic technique in order to achieve this end.
