Adriana van Zoest uses classical techniques to create her unmistakably modern paintings. She never produces a direct representation of reality. The objects she portrays merely serve as sources of inspiration. The light is manipulated to such an extent that it becomes a subject in itself. This lends an extra dimension to her paintings that is not always clearly visible but is immediately preceptible.
